Job description

Athletic Trainers are responsible for pre- and post-event care, on-field injury care during designated events, community and individual education, and maintenance of records, supplies, and equipment. ATCs are expected to perform duties within Physical & Sports Medicine services consistent with their education, including but not limited to exercise and modalities. The position may demand considerable physical activity related to patient care, including standing, bending, stooping, and reaching. Applicants should have the ability to transfer/transport patients safely. Viable candidates must have a strong understanding of equipment safety and maintenance, and be able to demonstrate professional judgment at all times.

Responsibilities

Job responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

  1. Ability to accommodate night and weekend games, practices, and events as needed; ability to do split days as needed to accommodate games, practices, and events, and to prioritize schedule within a 26-hour work week.
  2. Ability to perform ATC duties for children, young adults, and adult athletes.
  3. Coordinating and participating in pre-employment physical examinations for high school athletes.
  4. Communicating with coaches regarding play status.
  5. Documenting all assessments and treatments within 48 hours.
  6. Maintaining equipment and supplies.
  7. Other duties as assigned or needed.
