Job summary

Kessler Rehabilitation Center, part of Select Medical, seeks a full-time Athletic Trainer to support North Jersey athletic partners, including high school, college, and hockey programs. A NJ license or eligibility is required, with a pay range of $60,000–$80,000 based on experience.

This role offers exposure to diverse settings within a premier sports medicine network, with opportunities to work with Saint Peter's University and other partner organizations in North Jersey.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree required.

• Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
• Ability to collaborate with athletes, coaches, physicians, therapists, and athletic department personnel.

Responsibilities

• Provide coverage for practices, games, tournaments, and events.
• Assess and manage athletic injuries and illnesses.
• Administer first aid and emergency care when needed.
• Support concussion baseline testing and return-to-play protocols.
• Conduct athlete screenings and injury prevention initiatives.
• Collaborate with coaches, athletic directors, physicians, and rehabilitation professionals.

Position: Fulltime Athletic Trainer

** MUST be a NJ licensed athletic trainer or upcoming new grad to apply **

Pay range: $60,000 - $80,000 based on experience

Location: North New Jersey

Kessler Rehabilitation Center is seeking aFulltime Athletic Trainer to support a variety of athletic partners throughout North Jersey. This role offers exposure to high school, collegiate, and hockey athletics while working within one of the region's premier sports medicine networks.

Partner Organizations:

Saint Peter's University (Jersey City, NJ)Saint Peter's University is an NCAA Division I institution sponsoring 14 varsity athletic teams and approximately 250 student-athletes, offering a fast-paced and dynamic sports medicine environment.

Responsibilities

• Provide coverage for athletic practices, competitions, tournaments, and events.


• Assess and manage athletic injuries and illnesses.


• Administer first aid and emergency care when needed.

Physical Requirements: Ability to lift patients using biomedical techniques frequently throughout the course of a work day/shift; must be capable of easily lifting fifty (50) pounds of weight alone. Ability to walk, bend, stand, and reach constantly during a work day/shift. Visual acuity (near and distant) sufficient to maintain accurate records, recognize people, and understand written direction. Ability to speak and hear sufficiently to understand and give directions. Ability to push wheeled equipment throughout the facility and in the community. Fine motor skills adequate for scheduling and preparing athletes, equipment, and supplies for treatment. Ability to participate in sustained activities for many hours in duration in accordance with state labor laws.
