Job description

Job Title: Athletic Trainer

ProHealth Care is seeking an Athletic Trainer to work with active patients to prevent and treat injuries, enhance performance, and support overall wellness. This role involves collaboration with healthcare providers and coaches to assist athletes and patients of all ages and activity levels.

Position Details:

  • Job Type: Day/PM Rotation
  • Weekly Hours: 20
  • Hours: Varied, including days, nights, and weekends, primarily at Waukesha County High School for training and event coverage
  • Eligible for a $2,500 Sign-on Bonus
Responsibilities:
  • Evaluate and advise individuals on injury recovery, prevention, and maintaining peak physical fitness
  • Provide first aid or emergency care during sporting events
  • Develop training programs to improve athletic performance and address injuries or illnesses
  • Assess injuries and determine referral needs
  • Collaborate with medical professionals on rehabilitation programs
  • Apply protective devices and advise on equipment use
  • Evaluate athlete readiness and provide participation clearances
  • Conduct pre-participation physicals and educate coaches and athletes on injury prevention
Minimum Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in a related field
  • Athletic Trainer Certification (ATC) within 90 days of hire
  • Licensed Athletic Trainer in WI within 90 days of hire
  • BLS (CPR) Certification or ability to obtain upon hire
  • AED certification within 90 days of hire
