Qualifications

Role Description

Salary range: $56,300 - $78,900 based on years of experience

The Athletic Trainer will assess, treat, and manage sports-related and orthopedic injuries for patients and athletes, providing evidence-based care under the direction of physicians and other licensed providers. Daily responsibilities include conducting injury evaluations, implementing individualized rehabilitation plans, and monitoring progress to support safe return to activity. The role also involves educating patients, families, and teams on injury prevention, conditioning techniques, and proper body mechanics. The Athletic Trainer will collaborate with clinical staff, maintain accurate documentation, and support performance programs aligned with Franciscan Health’s standards of safety and quality.

Qualifications

• Candidates should possess strong skills in Injury Prevention and Prevention-focused education and programming.
• Candidates should possess applied Athletic Training skills, including injury assessment, taping, bracing, and on-field or on-site care.
• Candidates should possess Strength & Conditioning skills to design and monitor safe training plans that enhance performance and reduce injury risk.
• Candidates should possess Rehabilitation skills for developing and progressing individualized treatment plans that support recovery and return to activity.
• Current certification as an Athletic Trainer (BOC-ATC) and eligibility for or possession of Indiana state licensure required.
• Bachelor’s degree in Athletic Training or related field required; master’s degree preferred.
• Strong communication, teamwork, and patient education skills, with the ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary clinical environment.
• CPR/First Aid certification and prior clinical or sports setting experience preferred.
