Job Description
Innovation Academy Charter School is seeking an athletic trainer for our high school and middle school athletics (this position will work with athletes in grades 5-12). The athletic trainer works Monday through Friday and will be asked to cover Saturday practices and games. Trainer must be available during after-school practices and competitions, approximately 2-6:30 pm daily (these hours may vary slightly, depending on the schedule and season). This is a part-time, salaried position - between $60,000-75,000 per year.

Major duties as head athletic trainer shall include, but not necessarily be limited to, the following:

• Maintain appropriate general treatment orders to be reviewed annually and approved by the Athletic Director.
• Provide athletic training services for all home athletic contests and practices.
• Act as liaison between family physicians and specialists, the school district, athletes, and their families.
• Maintain accurate records of injuries, treatments and provide necessary forms and information for sports injuries treated by a physician or outside practitioner.
• Administer and maintain records of ImPACT concussion testing.
• Ensure that all participating athletes have updated physicals on file. This includes working with coaches, families, and department staff to enforce this requirement.
• Provide the coaches and athletic director with a list of athletes medically eligible to compete under district and state rules and regulations, as well as an updated injury report with athletes’ current status.
• Oversee all athletic training interns.
• If needed, travel with teams to away contests (including driving teams on the school van) and assist with team supervision.
• Assist with minor day-to-day department operations if there is not a high demand for athletic training services at the time. Position Type: Full-time
