Job Description

This is a contracted position, not an employee of Maple Run Unified School District.

Bellows Free Academy seeks an Athletic Trainer to provide services for up to 6 days per week for no more than 25-30 hours per week. The athletic trainer candidate must hold a license through the Vermont Secretary of State Office of Professional Regulations.

The Athletic Trainers job description at BFA will include but not be limited to:

  • Provide acute medical intervention during practices and games.
  • Determine the need for emergent care for players and initiates the EMS system when necessary.
  • Make recommendations to athletes for appropriate treatment post injury, emphasizing patient choice of provider.
  • Provide pre-game and post-game medical support to athletes i.e; taping, wrapping, icing, and whirlpool.
  • Develop and implement conditioning programs for athletes in conjunction with coaches and Physical Therapists.
  • Follow National Athletic Trainers’ Association (NATA) standards and corresponding Vermont chapter, the Vermont Association of Athletic Trainers.
  • Provide our visiting teams with assistance as requested by the school.
  • Document injuries and interventions per the School’s guidelines.
