Job summary

Sioux Center Health is seeking an Athletic Trainer for Cross Country, Track & Field, and Women's Volleyball to prevent, recognize, assess, treat, and recondition athletic injuries. The role develops action plans from testing data and leads fitness programs while aiding return-to-competition decisions.

The position requires a Bachelor's degree, NATABOC certification with Iowa licensure, and CPR certification within 3 months of hire.

  • Certified by the National Athletic Trainers' Association Board of Certification or NATABOC and licensed by the state of Iowa.
  • Must obtain CPR certification within 3 months of hire date.

Responsibilities

  • Documents assessments, progress, treatment notes, and discharge summaries.

The Athletic Trainer is responsible for the practice of prevention, recognition, assessment, physical evaluation, management, treatment, disposition, and physical reconditioning of athletic injuries that are within the professional preparation and education of a licensed athletic trainer. This position develops plans of action based on testing data, leads exercise and fitness programs, and assists with determining return to competition. This position may be involved in marketing and outside community fitness programs.General Hours of WorkAll shiftsEducation and/or ExperienceGraduate from an accredited college program.Certificate, Licenses, RegistrationsBachelors Degree required. Certified by the National Athletic Trainers' Association Board of Certification or NATABOC and licensed by the state of Iowa. Must obtain CPR certification within 3 months of hire date. This position requires a valid driver’s license and must carry their own automobile liability insurance.Essential FunctionsPerforms the practice of prevention, recognition, assessment, physical evaluation, management, treatment, disposition, and physical reconditioning of athletic injuries.Develops plans of action based on testing data.Leads exercise and fitness programs.Assists with determining return to competition.Timely and appropriate documentation. This includes assessment findings, progress notes, treatment notes, re-assessments, and discharge summaries.Will be available for teams we serve and be present at required athletic events.May be involved in marketing and outside community fitness programs.Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
