Job description

What You'll Do
  • Evaluate and treat athletic injuries using evidence‑based methods.
  • Collaborate with physicians, therapists, and healthcare teams to optimize patient outcomes.
  • Design and implement rehabilitation programs tailored to each individual's needs.
  • Serve as a health educator, delivering preventive care advice to patients and the community.
  • Document assessments and treatments in compliance with state and Novant protocols.
  • Maintain a safe environment, guided by "First Do No Harm" principles.
  • Provide direct patient care, including rooming patients and obtaining vital signs.
  • Perform patient triage and assess symptoms.
  • Work closely with providers during patient visits.
  • Assess and support home exercise programs and ongoing care plans.
  • Educate patients on and coordinate medical equipment needs.
  • Initiate and manage referrals.
  • Assist with scheduling and facilitating follow-up appointments.
Qualifications
  • Education: 4‑year bachelor’s degree required; graduate from an accredited athletic training program required. Graduate degree preferred.
  • Experience: 2 years preferred.
  • Licensure/Certification: Current AT licensure in the appropriate state and ability to acquire additional state licenses as required; successfully pass NATA BOC exam required; hold or ability to hold AHA BLS First Aid/CPR/AED Instructor certification required; hold or ability to hold CSCS, PES, BFR, Dry Needling or similar preferred.
  • Additional skills: Excellent customer service, written and oral communication, basic computer application skills, and ability to multitask.
