Harlem Children’s Zone (HCZ) — a world-renowned education and poverty-fighting organization based in New York — seeks an enthusiastic, dedicated, and mission-aligned Athletic Trainer.
The Athletic Trainer will bring a passion for the mission of Harlem Children’s Zone: break the cycle of intergenerational poverty with comprehensive, on-the-ground programming that builds up opportunities for children and families to thrive in school, work, and life.
We are seeking an Athletic Trainer to guide our middle school and high school students through interscholastic athletic programs, activities, and events. The Athletic Trainer will be responsible for creating and improving athletic programs and developing and administering effective policies and procedures that ultimately keep student-athletes engaged athletically and promote positive academic and personal growth. The ideal candidate will bring a passion for the mission of Harlem Children’s Zone, an understanding and respect for the culture of all residents of Harlem, and experience working in a school-based setting that fosters a love for children.

Who you are
The Athletic Trainer, under the general supervision of a licensed physician and the Director of Athletics, plans and implements an approved program for athletic training, applicable to the elementary, middle and high school athletes, designed to provide prevention, care and rehabilitation of athletic injuries. Advises scholar-athletes and coaches on the prevention and care of athletic injuries. Provides Athletic Trainer coverage at athletic events. Assures appropriate maintenance of equipment and supplies assigned to the athletic training program; maintains records on examination and physical condition of scholar-athletes.
