Job summary

Seward County Community College is seeking an Athletic Trainer to support prevention, evaluation, management and rehabilitation of injuries across athletic programs. You will work closely with the Director of Athletic Training, coaches and physicians to ensure high-quality care for student athletes.

The ideal candidate holds a Bachelor’s degree in athletic training with current BOC certification and CPR/AED.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in athletic training or related field is required.
  • Current BOC certification is required; NATA exam is required upon certification.
  • Current CPR & AED Certification; First Aid Instructor preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with Director of Athletic Training, Athletic Director, coaches, student athletes, and physicians for prevention, evaluation, management and rehabilitation of athletic injuries.
  • Instruct 9 credit hours per year.
  • Maintain flexible work schedule and travel, including overnight stays, as needed.

Education

Bachelor’s degree in athletic training or related field
Master’s degree in related field (preferred)

Job description

Seward County Community College is a two-year institution offering 45 programs of study, including Adult Basic Education, certificate programs and Associate of Arts, Science, General Studies and Applied Sciences degrees. Ranked in the top 5% of more than 1,100 accredited community colleges in the U.S. by the Aspen Institute, SCCC serves a student body of 2,500+ students ranging in age from 15 to 85, in a county with the highest foreign-born percentage population in the U.S., and a rural service area of about 50,997 in seven Southwest Kansas counties as well as neighboring counties in southeastern Colorado, the Oklahoma and Texas Panhandles.

Responsibilities

Position works closely with the Director of Athletic Training, Athletic Director, coaches, student athletes, and physicians regarding the prevention, evaluation, management, and rehabilitation of all injuries related to participation in various athletic programs. Instruction of 9 credit hours per year. A flexible work schedule and travel, including overnight stays, is required.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in athletic training or related field required; a master’s degree in a related field preferred. Six months to two years of experience.

Current BOC certification. Successful completion of the National Athletic Trainers’ Association Board of Certification exam is required. Current or eligible for the Kansas State Board of Healing Arts license. Current CPR & AED Certification required; CPR/First Aid Instructor preferred.
