A leading healthcare provider is seeking an Athletic Trainer to provide patient care and administer athletic training services at various settings. The role involves working collaboratively with patients, providers, and teaching students while ensuring effective communication and high-quality care. The Athletic Trainer may work in many different setting including coordinating and providing patient care in the physicians practice, which may include first assistant in surgery. The Athletic Trainer coordinates the administration of athletic training services at assigned school, venue or events. This position works cooperatively and is actively engaged in the teaching of fellows, residents, athletic trainers, and other student.Essential Job Functions:
Assists with patient education involving the whole patient care and treatment plan according to validated skill level.
Performs and functions as a first assistant by demonstrating appropriate skill level of procedures under the supervision of the Orthopedic Physician.
Assists student athletes with physician referral and works with providers to return the athlete to play safely. Provides concussion management services utilizing IMPACT testing.
Performs on-site injury assessment and treatment including first aid and Basic Life Support (BLS). Performs injury prevention services through identification of predisposing conditions and utilization of protective taping and bracing.
Applies and removes all types of casts, appropriate dressings, splints, traction and other orthopedic appliances and equipment.
Coordinates the administration of the athletic training program at assigned schools, including site visits, event coverage and sports related education and training.
Performs other duties as assigned or needed to meet the needs of the department/organization.
