Job summary

Novant Health is seeking an Athletic Trainer to join our team in Cary, NC, with additional coverage in Holly Springs and Raleigh. You will evaluate and treat athletic injuries, design rehab plans, educate patients, and work with physicians and therapists to optimize outcomes.

The role emphasizes prevention, patient education, and safe, evidence-based care in a team setting. Shifts are 10 hours, four days per week, with no weekends or holidays, offering a balanced schedule and opportunities for

Qualifications

  • Education: 4-year degree; graduate from accredited athletic training program.
  • Graduate degree preferred.
  • Licensure: Current AT licensure; ability to acquire more before start.
  • BOC exam required.
  • Hold or able to hold AHA BLS/First Aid/CPR/AED Instructor certification.
  • CSCS, PES, BFR, dry needling or similar preferred.
  • Experience: 2 years preferred.
  • Skills: Customer service, written and oral communication, basic computer skills, multitasking.

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct patient care, including rooming patients and obtaining vital signs.
  • Perform patient triage and assess symptoms.
  • Work closely with providers during patient visits.
  • Assess and support home exercise programs and ongoing care plans.
  • Educate patients on medical equipment needs.
  • Initiate and manage referrals.
  • Assist with scheduling and facilitating follow-up appointments.

Join Novant Health as an Athletic Trainer

Location: Cary NC, Holly Springs, NC and Raleigh, NC

Schedule: 10 hr shifts work 7:30am-5:30pm 4 days per week

What You'll Do
  • Evaluate & Treat athletic injuries using evidence-based methods.
  • Collaborate with physicians, therapists, and healthcare teams to optimize patient outcomes.
  • Design & implement rehabilitation programs tailored to each individual's needs.
  • Serve as a health educator, delivering preventive care advice to patients and the community.
  • Document assessments and treatments in compliance with state and Novant protocols.
  • Maintain a safe environment, guided by "First Do No Harm" principles.

What We're Looking For
  • Education: 4 Year / Bachelors Degree, required. Graduate from an accredited athletic training program, required. Graduate Degree, preferred.
  • Experience: 2 years, preferred.
  • Licensure/Certification: Current AT licensure in appropriate state with the ability to acquire additional state licenses as required prior to first day of employment, required. Successfully pass BOC exam, required. Hold or ability to hold AHA BLS First Aid/CPR/AED Instructor certification, required. Hold or ability to hold CSCS, PES, BFR, Dry Needling or simlar, preferred.
  • Additional Skills Required: Excellent Customer Service, Written and Oral Communication, basic computer application skills, and ability to multitask.
