Job summary

Emory & Henry College in Emory, Virginia, invites applications for the Assistant Director of Strength & Conditioning. The role develops and manages training programs for student-athletes across intercollegiate sports and reports to the Director of Strength & Conditioning.

Candidates should hold a Bachelor's degree in Exercise Science or related field; a Master’s is preferred, with at least one year of strength and conditioning coaching.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in Exercise Science, Exercise Physiology, or Physical Education.
• Master’s degree in a related field preferred.
• Minimum 1 year of strength and conditioning coaching experience.
• Current NSCA CSCS and/or CSCAA SCCC certification; CPR/First Aid certifications required.

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and manage strength and conditioning programs for student-athletes.
• Monitor progress, assess development, and adjust training as needed.
• Maintain records of programming, testing, and assessments.
• Collaborate with sports medicine and coaches; support on-campus recruiting and events.
