Job summary

Sylvania in Kentucky seeks a District Athletic Coordinator to plan, organize, direct and implement athletic activities, coach or assist coaches, and serve as the district contact for athletic program questions.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED, plus 64 college hours and coaching experience, with ABLE test and background checks, AIDS awareness, CPR/First Aid certification, and a Kentucky driver’s license.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Minimum 64 semester hours at an accredited college or university.
• At least 1 year of coaching experience in a school athletic program.
• Must complete ABLE test, criminal records check, AIDS awareness training, current first aid and CPR certification, and have a valid Kentucky driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Promote sports in schools and community.
• Plan or assist in planning the athletic program.
• Organize and supervise practices and sessions.
• Teach fundamentals, team play, strategy, and game rules.
• Instruct on sportsmanship and self-control.
• Check participant eligibility including insurance and parent consent.
• Provide guidance and positive role modeling to students.
• Conduct learning experiences with small groups of student athletes.
• Assist in equipment, supplies, and uniforms purchases for athlete welfare.
• Perform related duties as assigned by the Superintendent.
