Job summary

Southwest Tennessee Community College in Memphis, TN invites applications for a part-time Adjunct Faculty position in the Social and Behavioral Sciences Department. The adjunct instructor will coordinate, plan, present, and evaluate classroom instruction across multiple campus locations in Athletic Training.

Minimum qualifications include a Master's degree in the teaching discipline (or related with 18 graduate hours) and 2 years of higher education teaching or 1 year + 3 years field experience.

Qualifications

  • Master's degree in the teaching discipline or related field with 18 hours of graduate work.
  • Two years of teaching experience in higher education or one year plus three years in the field.
  • Ability to coordinate, plan, present and evaluate classroom instruction.

Responsibilities

  • Prepares and delivers instruction on topics related to sport management and sport administration.
  • Grading and communicating progress to students in a timely manner.
  • Develops curricula and instructional materials such as syllabi and handouts.
  • Maintains office hours for student advising and recruitment.
  • Complies with FERPA and maintains accurate student records.
  • Attends faculty meetings and participates in committees and professional activities.
  • Keeps abreast of developments in the field and participates in professional conferences.
  • Participates in departmental and college committees and outreach to the community.
