Job summary

City of Wildwood seeks a skilled laborer in Parks and Recreation to maintain turf and ornamentals across athletic fields and parks. Responsibilities include fertilizing, planting, spraying, irrigation, verticutting, aerating, and equipment operation.

The role may require evenings/weekends and safety-focused daily tasks. Qualified candidates will have a high school diploma or GED, with two years' experience in public spraying preferred; Florida Driver's License required, CDL Class A may be needed

Qualifications

• Requires high school diploma or GED; related field training preferred.
• Experience with public chemical spraying (2+ years) preferred.
• Must possess ability to perform heavy manual tasks.
• Must possess ability to work safely and communicate effectively (verbal and written).
• Requires valid Florida Driver's License; CDL Class A within 6 months if applicable.

Responsibilities

• Maintain athletic field turf and ornamentals; fertilize, plant, spray and inspect areas.
• Perform irrigation, verticutting, aerating, top dressing, and clay fill installations.
• Operate vehicles and equipment to transport materials and perform maintenance.
• Maintain records of inspections and maintenance activities and adhere to safety standards.
