Job summary

William & Mary Athletics is seeking an Athletic Field/Facilities Technician to support Kaplan Arena and university facilities. You will assist with field and facility prep, event setups, and routine custodial duties for athletic and non-athletic activities.

The role requires a valid driver’s license, ability to lift up to 50 lbs, and stamina for long hours, weekends, and varying weather. Salary ranges from $35,000 to $40,000 per year, commensurate with experience.

Qualifications

• A valid driver’s license and ability to meet physical requirements.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Good interpersonal abilities and reliability.
• High school diploma or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• 50% - Field and Facility Preparation: assist with maintenance and prep of athletic facilities and fields; semi-skilled event setup/breakdown.
• 20% - Facility Maintenance: help maintain safe facilities through inspections and light repairs.
• 15% - Custodial: clean and maintain locker rooms, bathrooms, and common areas.
• 5% - Equipment Operation and Maintenance: inspect and operate department equipment; follow safety protocols.
• 10% - Other Duties as Assigned: training, classes, and department meetings.
