Job summary

Town of Abingdon is seeking a full-time staff member to assist with the Meadows Sports Complex operations, maintenance, and activities. The role focuses on delivering excellent customer service to visitors, teams, coaches, and the public while ensuring facilities and fields are clean, safe, and ready for use.

The position mainly uses 10-hour shifts Tuesday through Friday, with potential evenings, weekends, or holidays.

Qualifications

Two years of experience in parks and recreation, athletic facility operations, event coordination, grounds maintenance, customer service, or a related field.
Experience working with the public in a customer service or recreational environment preferred.
Experience with athletic facilities, tournaments, recreational programming, concessions, facility rentals, or event operations preferred.
Must possess a valid Virginia driver's license and maintain a satisfactory driving record.
Must pass pre-employment drug screen and background check.

Responsibilities

Assist with daily operation, maintenance, and activities of the Meadows Sports Complex.
Provide customer service to visitors, teams, coaches, tournament organizers, and the general public.
Ensure facilities, athletic fields, concessions, and event areas are clean, safe, organized, and ready for use.
Work schedule is 10-hour shifts Tuesday through Friday, with possible evenings, weekends, and holidays.
