Job summary

West Suburban YMCA in Massachusetts is seeking a confident Facility Monitor II to oversee the Wells Ave fieldhouse, ensuring a safe, respectful, and inclusive environment for all participants. You will actively supervise activities, enforce policies, and address conflicts with sound judgment as a reliable presence.

The role offers a part-time schedule of approximately 20–29 hours per week, with weekday evenings from 6PM–10PM and weekends 7AM–7PM.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 25 years of age with demonstrated maturity.
• 2+ years of athletics, recreation, facility supervision, coaching, or related field.
• Ability to manage groups, enforce rules, resolve conflicts calmly and professionally.
• Strong interpersonal skills to engage participants and foster inclusivity.
• Reliability, professionalism, and ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Flexibility to work afternoons, evenings and weekends; commitment to DEIB.

Responsibilities

• Maintains a safe and controlled environment by monitoring activity and intervening when needed.
• Enforces facility rules and policies with calm, firm, respectful authority.
• Communicates with rental partners and follows the gym schedule, with flexibility as needed.
• Completes attendance and incident reports and other required documentation.
• Supports DEIB commitments and helps implement diversity initiatives.
• Follows safety protocols and emergency procedures at all times.
• Assists with setup, breakdown, and equipment coordination for programs.
• Provides active supervision of field house areas, spaces, and bathrooms.
• Acts as a visible leader and promotes a culture aligned with the mission.
