Job summary

Peralta Community College District is seeking a warehouse/athletics equipment assistant to support all athletic and physical education programs. Responsibilities include equipment storage, issuing, maintaining, repairing, and collecting athletic gear, towels, and supplies, plus assisting with events setup and teardown and class/private facility use.

The role may require evenings/weekends on campus or support for travel to events; strong inventory and organizational skills are essential to ensure

Qualifications

• Equivalent to graduation from high school.
• Two (2) years of experience in handling and maintaining athletic equipment and supplies.
• Valid Class C driver's license and safe driving record.
• Understanding of diverse backgrounds of Peralta Colleges’ students, faculty, staff, and community.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily laundry operations, including washing, drying, folding, and distribution of team uniforms, towels, equipment, and supplies.
• Assist with issuing, receiving, storing, and checking athletic equipment for various sports.
• Match purchase orders to invoices; inspect items; monitor changes in PO; communicate with vendors; assist budgeting and purchasing records.
• Clean, organize, and maintain athletic equipment, uniforms, and supplies.
• Determine replacement needs; research vendors; assist in ordering and inventory control.
• Helmet and shoulder pad fitting and basic repair.
• Operate computer to manage inventory, locker assignments, and reports.
• Oversee locker room security and operation; manage lockers and maintenance requests.
• Set up/break down equipment for events, classes, and facility rentals; support scoring systems as needed.
• Assist students, staff, and faculty with athletics inquiries and problem resolution.
• Maintain positive relationships with campus leadership, faculty, students, and community members; supervise student workers.
