Allen Community College in Iola, Kansas, seeks an Athletic Director to provide leadership and oversight for the college's intercollegiate athletics program, including varsity and developmental/JV teams. The role requires a bachelor’s degree and at least three years in collegiate athletics with supervisory responsibilities.

Responsibilities include administration, eligibility, recruiting, and compliance, with travel and evening/weekend hours as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited institution in athletic administration, sports management, education, business, student affairs, or a related field is required.
• Minimum of 3 years of progressively responsible experience in collegiate athletics, athletics administration, coaching, student affairs or closely related area.
• Experience in NJCAA and/or community college athletics. Demonstrated supervisory or leadership experience.
• Knowledge of collegiate athletics, administration, student athlete eligibility, recruiting, compliance and student success.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to travel as required.
• Ability to work evenings, weekends, and other non-traditional hours as required by athletics schedules.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership, administration and oversight for Allen’s intercollegiate athletics program, including varsity and developmental/JV teams and other College-sponsored programs.
• Oversee administration, compliance and student-athlete eligibility processes.
• Coordinate scheduling, events, travel, and community relations for athletics.

12 Month Contract Full-time Position

The Athletic Director provides leadership, administration and oversight for Allen’sintercollegiate athletics program, including varsity and developmental/JV athletic teams and other College-sponsored competitive athletic programs.

Position Description

STARTING DATE:

Salary range of $62,000- 95,000/yr. depending upon education and experience.
