Job summary

Angelo State University seeks an Assistant Athletic Director, Athletic Communications to lead the athletics communications program, promote Ram and Rambelle sports, and oversee media relations and streaming at home events.

The role supervises staff and works with coaches, students, and media to ensure accurate game coverage, statistics, and timely news releases while upholding NCAA and university policies.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in journalism, communications, marketing, public relations, or related field.
• Four years of experience in sports information, communications, marketing, or public relations.
• Master’s degree in a related field (preferred).
• Experience serving as primary or secondary communications contact for football (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Promotes ASU athletes, coaches and sports through media, advertising and public relations strategies.
• Monitors and updates angelosports.com with timely game accounts, features and news.
• Compiles statistics and reports for NCAA and LSC; directs media relations strategies.
• Oversees streaming strategy and production for ASU athletic events.
• Coordinates coach and student-athlete appearances with media.
• Assists with game management and NCAA/LSC compliant reporting; tracks streaming viewership and social media metrics.
• Ensures compliance with NCAA, LSC, and university policies.
