Job summary

Covenant Day School is seeking an Assistant Athletic Director/Sports Information Director to lead athletic communications and support the leadership team. You will coordinate rosters, promote teams, and manage media relations in alignment with the school's mission and branding.

You will oversee game day operations, event planning, equipment management, and Booster Club collaboration, while partnering with coaches and the Marketing team to elevate CDS athletics.

Qualifications

• Committed follower of Jesus Christ and calling to serve in a Christian school.
• Knowledge and appreciation of many high school and middle school sports.
• Bachelor’s degree required (prefer Communications or Journalism).
• Master’s Degree in Sports Management with emphasis in Marketing or Communication preferred.
• 5–10 years of experience in athletic administration (or similar) with communications/marketing experience preferred.
• Proficient in writing and editing of text.
• Proficient in communicating via social media platforms.
• Proficient in using Microsoft Office and a variety of photo editing software.

Responsibilities

• Sports information coordination with CDS Marketing team, update rosters and scores on the website.
• Draft press releases for coaching hires, college signings, and awards.
• Coordinate athletic social media content and follow CDS standards.
• Prepare Lions Weekly communications as needed.
• Serve as primary contact with local media and provide photos/information.
• Coordinate livestreams and digital programs for home varsity events.
• Hire, train, and supervise game-day communications staff (announcers, photographers).
• Manage game administration for varsity/JV/MS games and prepare game day scripts and announcer info.
• Lead event planning for signing days and annual awards, and coordinate coach meetings and team photos.
• Oversee equipment and uniform management, inventory, and storage; arrange facility reservations and rentals.
• Coordinate end-of-season summaries, distribute awards, and support Booster Club activities.
