Job summary

Winthrop University seeks an Athletic Communications Student Assistant to support the athletics communications office. The role includes assisting with official events, handling game duties, statistics programs, and creating digital content under the supervision of the communications staff.

This hourly position (20 hours/week) requires availability for nights and weekends and offers hands-on experience in collegiate athletics.

Qualifications

• Flexibility to work nights and weekends.
• Strong desire to work in collegiate athletics.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office, Adobe InDesign & Photoshop, and social media.
• Attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Assist in preparation and execution of official athletic events
• Learn or work with official stats and the official stat programs of the NCAA
• Assist communications team in official game duties (stats/clip highlights/game graphics/etc.)
• Help create and execute creative/digital content ideas
• Support in day-to-day operations of the communications office in collaboration with the external team
• Help maintain statistics and record books as well as writing press releases, feature stories or game recaps
