Responsibilities

  • Ensure the Girls Golf Team culture reflects the Spartan Way—Integrity, Excellence, Passion.
  • Create a positive environment that promotes team excellence.
  • Collaborate with US and MS Athletic Directors to build a qualified coaching staff.
  • Implement well-organized and structured practices.
  • Coordinate competition schedules with the Athletics Director.
  • Work with operations to schedule transportation, officials, and facilities.
  • Maintain rosters, schedules, physicals, results, records, equipment and accolades.
  • Provide effective communication with, supervision and evaluation of all athletes.
  • Support graduating players in college athletics search process.
  • Engage the community and recognize contributions to foster a positive culture.
  • Participate as a positive team member in Athletics Department initiatives.

St. Paul Academy and Summit School (SPA) is seeking a Head Girls Golf Coach. In this position the successful candidate will serve as Head Coach for the varsity team and support lower level programs. Included in the responsibilities are coaching, team management, development and support of assistant coaches and program development. A successful candidate will have a strong golf coaching background and be able to relate to/develop all levels of athlete.

St. Paul Academy and Summit School (SPA) is a private coeducational, non-sectarian, college preparatory day school serving nearly 1,000 students in PK through grade 12. Our two campuses are located approximately a mile apart in St. Paul, Minnesota, serving Grades K-5 on our Goodrich Campus and Grades 6-12 on our Randolph Campus. SPA believes Athletics contributes to the overall educational experience of our students, where lessons learned in sport are as valuable as those learned in the classroom. The Athletics program at SPA is one of the most successful in the Minnesota State High School League (MSHSL). SPA is ranked in the top 20 of all MSHSL schools when ranked by the number of state championships won. Requirements

Candidates will be required to have a strong technical background in coaching golf and demonstrate strong effective organizational and communication skills with students, parents, and administration. Candidates should support the mission of SPA and be able to support/contribute to student athlete life outside athletics.

Position Begins: March 2027

Status: Seasonal, Athletics

Department: Upper School Athletics

Salary Range: $5000-$6000(based on experience)

Duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  1. Ensure the Girls Golf Team culture reflects the “Spartan Way” - Integrity, Excellence and Passion and the student athletes reflect the values of SPA athletics.
  2. Creating a positive environment that promotes team excellence - “We Before Me”
  3. Support the US and MS Athletic Directors to build a coaching staff of qualified coaches, mentoring them in coaching in the SPA traditions.
  4. Implementing well-organized and structured practices
  5. Coordinating competition schedules with the US Athletics Director
  6. Working with the athletics operations coordinator to schedule transportation, officials, facilities …
  7. Maintaining accurate records and other required administrative work (rosters, schedules, physicals, results, records, equipment and individual and team accolades)
  8. Provide effective communication with, supervision and evaluation of all athletes
  9. Supporting graduating players in the college athletics search process
  10. Creating a rapport with the greater community, generating interest in the program recognizing the contributions of all; impressing upon the athletes and parents that their efforts are valued, while creating a positive team culture
  11. Participating as a positive team member in the Athletics Department supporting program excellence and development
