Job summary

The University of Minnesota’s Athletic Department is seeking a Business Intelligence Operations Analyst for roster management to manage data, model, and analyze roster strategy, revenue generation, player valuation, NIL, and scholarships. Build reliable data sources, develop dashboards, and support predictive modeling while ensuring transparent, explainable outputs.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in relevant fields plus at least two years of experience or a master's degree
  • Experience with databases, data management systems, reporting tools, or analytical platforms
  • Proficiency with SQL, Excel, Python, R, Tableau, Power BI or similar
  • Ability to organize, clean, validate, reconcile, analyze, and interpret complex datasets
  • Commitment to responsible and people-centered data practices
  • Strong reporting, dashboarding, and analytical communication skills

Responsibilities

  • Build, maintain, and improve authoritative data sources for roster-management and analytics
  • Support data quality controls, data lineage, and validation checks
  • Document data definitions, lineage, workflows, modeling assumptions, and reporting standards
  • Develop dashboards and recurring reports for coaches, administrators, finance, compliance, and leadership
  • Translate complex datasets into clear reports and visualizations
  • Monitor roster, financial, recruiting, and performance indicators and identify trends
