Job summary

The Academy of Charter Schools in Westminster, Colorado, is seeking an Assistant JV Head Girls Soccer Coach to guide a developing high school program. The Academy is a public PK-12 school emphasizing rigorous academics alongside character and leadership growth.

Responsibilities include supervising athletes, enforcing CHSAA rules, and promoting safety and sportsmanship. A stipend of $4,200 is paid for coaching duties during the season.

Qualifications

• Experience in coaching is required and experience as a coach is preferred.
• Copy of two current letters of recommendation and current certifications are highly recommended but not required with initial application
• Experience in the sport is required and experience as a coach is preferred

Responsibilities

• Enforce Academy, District and CHSAA regulations and supervise student athletes on the field.
• Monitor student behavior and intervene as needed to maintain safety and sportsmanship.
• Discuss/mediate infractions and provide documentation as required to the Athletic Director.
• Communicate with parents regarding disciplinary matters and outcomes as required.
• Oversee student safety and behavior before, during, and after practices and games.

SUMMARY:

Responsible for providing for a safe and secure school environment, fostering an optimal learning environment and acting as a deterrent to unsafe or poor behavior by patrolling the field, monitoring student behavior, enforcing school, District, and CHSAA policies, intervening in physical encounters, monitoring visitors, reporting unsafe or unhealthy conditions and assisting administrators and/or public officials with emergency or investigative situations.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. 1. Enforce The Academy, District and CHSAA regulations and policies, and act as a deterrent to unsafe or poor behavior by providing high visibility walking and surveying common areas, grounds and parking lots.
2. Monitor student behavior for infractions of safety regulations, weapons, tobacco, and substance abuse rules.
3. Discuss/mediate infractions with students; provide written accounts of unacceptable behavior/incidents to Athletic Director.
4. Communicate results of disciplinary process to parents. Meet with parents and students when required by disciplinary procedures and outcomes.
5. Monitor students inside and outside of the building.
6. Perform other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION AND RELATED WORK EXPERIENCE:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Knowledge and experience with coaching

LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS or CERTIFICATIONS:

• Criminal background check required for hire.
• Current CPR, First Aid and AED certifications.
• 1 year registered CHSAA or PERM Coach certification.
• Current CHSAA certifications required.

MATERIALS AND EQUIPMENT OPERATING KNOWLEDGE:

• Operating knowledge of and experience with personal computers and peripherals.
• Operating knowledge of information technology systems and any other department specific software and equipment required within 2 months after entering position.

• Responsible for monitoring and ensuring the behavior and safety of students on school grounds.

• Provide Head Athletic Coach all purchase information, before any monies are spent. Final authorizer is the Athletic Director.
• Employee is responsible for accuracy of cash collections and funds security.
• Follow all fundraising requirements as outlined by the Finance Department.
