Sdccdjobs is seeking a candidate to assist instructors in instructional classes and intercollegiate athletics in San Diego. Responsibilities include monitoring student safety, supervising equipment use, and maintaining inventory records.
The ideal applicant will have coursework in Physical Education and valid certifications in First Aid and CPR, providing a solid foundation for supporting athletic programs and ensuring safety standards are met.

Under the direction of an assigned supervisor, assist an instructor in instructional classes and intercollegiate athletics; store, set up and maintain a variety of athletic and field equipment.
Knowledge of general first aid procedures; rules and techniques of games and sports contests; scoring of a wide variety of games and contests; athletic field dimensions and areas; and basic inventory procedures and records. Ability to communicate effectively with faculty and students, operate line machines, clean and make minor repairs to equipment, perform vigorous manual labor, operate utility vehicles and vans, and apply protective athletic devices. Six units of course work in Physical Education or Recreation Leadership or participation in a variety of sports, including officiating at contests or conferences. Valid California driver’s license. First Aid and CPR certificates are desirable.
All applicants must have demonstrated cultural competency and sensitivity to and understanding of the diverse backgrounds of community college students, faculty and classified professionals.

Selected candidate is required to complete the following prior to employment: Provide a Certificate of Tuberculosis Exam for initial appointment (renew every 4 years); have fingerprints taken by live scan computer at district’s expense (cleared prior to first day); and present original documents for proof of eligibility to work in the United States.
