Responsibilities

• Ensure claims are sent clean and on time for first-billing.
• Review and correct claims issues identified in internal holds and scrubbing.
• Reconcile desktops to ensure upfront rejections are addressed and resubmitted to correct payer.
• Review outstanding accounts receivable using ATB, queues, and payment reports.
• Submit timely adjustments and document activity in accounts.
• Understand denials, dispute and appeal processes with payors.
• Follow up with insurance companies to ensure claims are processed and paid per contract.
• Understand payor contracts, guidelines, and CPT/revenue codes.
• Investigate denial trends and propose action plans to departments.
• Provide back-up phone support to billing lines daily.

ROUTINE RESPONSIBILITIES

• Consistently complies with established Behavioral Expectations
• Reviews, identifies, and corrects claims issues identified in inhouse hold and the claim scrubbing holds
• Sends clean, timely claims out on first billing

• Understands payor contracts and billing guidelines. revenue codes, cpt codes, modifiers, and payor-specific guidelines
• Investigates and reports claims denial trends with payer documentation for departments to review and establish action plan
• Provides back-up phone support to billing lines daily
