Textron Systems is seeking an ATE Software Engineer II to develop automated test equipment for DoD/aerospace applications in a cross-disciplinary environment. You will write C# test code for Special Test Equipment, create validation and calibration sequences, and generate test reports and review materials.

The role requires a strong EE background, experience with instrument-driven software, and the ability to work across electrical, mechanical, and software teams. U.S.

Qualifications

• BS in Electrical Engineering with 2 years’ experience developing instrument driven test software.
• Strong C# programming skills and experience in automated test equipment (ATE) environments.
• Familiar with test interfaces and common lab instrumentation protocols.

About This Role

We believe people should love what they do – in this role, you will be responsible for developing Automated Test Equipment (ATE) in a DoD / Aerospace Line of Business. Applicant should have a strong background in Electrical Engineering, and possess a demonstrated ability developing C# test code for Special Test Equipment (ATE / STE). Test executives and test sequences, as well as commercial instrumentation interfaces, data acquisition and control, and communication protocols will be the prime applications to be designed and automated into our ATE systems. High awareness and competency in the cohesion required between the multi-disciplinary functions (electrical / mechanical / software) required of a formal ATE team are required. Designing with Modularity and Commonality are top requirements of the position. Additionally, the ability to generate Validation sequences, Calibration sequences, Test Reports, estimates, design review materials, and presentation packages, is critical.

Responsibilities

• Derive, flow, and trace Test Requirements from Sources to Test Code and Test Report
• Design and implement automation software to satisfy Test Requirements
• Interface with product development teams to determine appropriate test strategy and coverage for functional requirements
• Develop modular, reusable test automation software in C# and GUI tools for manufacturing and engineering design verification.
• Produce technical presentation packages for Design Reviews
• Collaborate with ATE Hardware developers to ensure hardware / software cohesion throughout the Integration and Debug phases
• Produce Test Procedures and Process Documents to support ATE deployment
• Integrate ATE with Units Under Test
• Release software into Configuration Management
• Support Contract Manufacturers with questions and Integration
• Interface with Production teams to satisfy Manufacturing requirements

Qualifications

• B.S. in Electrical Engineering with 2 years’ experience developing instrument driven test software
• Solid programming knowledge in C#
• Strong understanding of general ATE design principles including various communication protocols (Serial, Ethernet, PXI, USB, and IEEE-488, etc.)
• Experience in problem isolation with demonstrable troubleshooting skills
• Relevant experience with Software Configuration Management tools, defect tracking tools, and Peer Review processes
• Ability to effectively communicate and engage all levels of the organization verbally and in writing
• Experience as an IPT Lead or CAM, with EVMS exposure is a plus
• Must have strong written and verbal communications skills and be able to work in a team-oriented environment
• An existing U.S. Secret Security Clearance is desired. The ability to obtain one is required.

$92,600 - $139,600 per year.
