Job summary

NVIDIA is seeking a seasoned IC testing engineer in Santa Clara to drive ATE/SLT hardware development, socket and thermal plunger solutions, and DOE-driven improvements. You will analyze data, troubleshoot hardware, and coordinate with internal and external teams to ensure successful product bring‑up and production readiness.

The role requires a Bachelor’s degree (EE/ME preferred) with 5+ years of IC testing experience, socket/PCB knowledge, SI expertise, and hands-on capability including

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience; EE/ME preferred.
  • 5+ years in IC testing engineering and ATE/SLT hardware.
  • Experience with test sockets and thermal plungers is a strong plus.
  • Familiar with socket mechanics, PCB footprints, and signal integrity.
  • Knowledge of ATE interface hardware, maintenance, and repairs.
  • Hands-on work and ability to lift 30 pounds; ESD awareness.

Responsibilities

  • Review and approve test socket, thermal plunger and accessories for ATE/SLT testing.
  • Provide ATE/SLT HW solutions from design to production, monitoring, verification, and improvement.
  • Drive ATE/SLT socket/thermal technology, solutions, and qualifications.
  • Conduct DOE by gathering data, analyzing results, and recommending improvements.
  • Provide multi-functional support.
  • Lead projects and coordinate with internal and external collaborators.
  • Perform root-cause analysis and implement preventive actions.
  • Debug ATE/SLT hardware setups (socket, thermal plungers, PCB, chiller, handler).
  • On-duty lab support; weekend work may be necessary.

Responsibilities
  • Review and approve the design of test socket, thermal plunger, and other accessories related to ATE/SLT IC testing for product bring‑up and production.
  • Provide ATE and SLT test fixture/HW solutions from design, manufacturing order, schedule monitoring, verification, and improvement.
  • Drive ATE and SLT socket/thermal technology, solutions, and qualifications.
  • Drive DOE with a sense of responsibility from gathering and analyzing engineering data and making decisions and recommendations for improvement.
  • Provide multi‑functional support.
  • Drive a project and host a meeting with internal and external collaborators.
  • Apply strong hardware troubleshooting and root‑cause analysis. Possess the ability to provide preventive actions.
  • Able to debug ATE/SLT hardware setup such as socket, thermal plunger, PCB, chiller, and handler.
  • Require on‑duty lab support. Weekend support may be necessary.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience is required. EE and ME related degrees are preferred.
  • 5 plus years of IC testing engineering and ATE/SLT hardware engineering experience.
  • Experience with test sockets and thermal plungers is a strong plus. Familiar with test socket and/or thermal plunger mechanics and PCB footprints.
  • Experience with socket signal integrity is a strong plus.
  • Fully capable of understanding mechanical drawings and knowing mechanical and electrical circuit knowledge.
  • Have IC testing knowledge of ATE/SLT interface hardware, maintenance, fixing, and repairs. (Socket, load board, thermal plungers)
  • Having ATE tester knowledge is a plus.
  • Proven ability in solving problems and providing solutions to prevent reoccurrence.
  • Willing to conduct hands‑on work such as socket pin repair, electric wire, and tiny capacitor/resistor.
  • Able to lift 30 pounds load board during unboxing, boxing, and short transportation and have knowledge of prevention and control of electrostatic discharge (ESD).
Salary and Benefits

Your base salary will be determined based on your location, experience, and the pay of employees in similar positions. The base salary range is 132,000 USD - 207,000 USD. You will also be eligible for equity and benefits.
