Job summary

The Air Force Civilian Service in Oklahoma City seeks an ATCALS Equipment Specialist (GS-1670-12) to serve as senior technical expert for RAWS systems and provide engineering support to AFFSA. This is a full-time federal role with competitive pay and comprehensive benefits.

Candidates must be a U.S. citizen, able to obtain a security clearance, and willing to travel as required. Relocation assistance is available for eligible applicants under JTR rules.

Qualifications

• US Citizenship is required.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain an appropriate security clearance.
• Experience with Deployable Instrument Landing system (D-ILS), Tactical Air Navigation System (TACAN), Radar, SATCOM, Glideslope, Localizer, and other associated airfield systems.
• Drug testing position with random drug testing.
• Travel may be required on military or commercial aircraft.
• Memorandum of Understanding including Selection, Restriction, Outplacement, Tour and Mobility Agreement as a condition of employment.

Responsibilities

• Apply a full spectrum of knowledge in the design, planning, employment, and acquisition of existing and future ATCALS systems.
• Installs, relocates, modifies, deploys, and maintains fixed and mobile meteorological, navigation and air traffic control ground-to-air radio systems.
• Provide expert-level knowledge of system design, signal flow, circuit analysis, test equipment, and flight inspection procedures.
• Advise senior leadership on airfield systems policies, mentor installation organizations, and provide advanced technical training.
