Job summary

Lees Summit R-7 School District in Missouri is seeking a Paraprofessional Specialist for Great Beginnings – Paradise Park for the 2026‑27 school year. The role is full-time, 145 days per year, 8 hours daily, with schedule Mon-Thurs 7:30 am–3:30 pm and the first Friday of each month 7:30 am–3:30 pm.

Candidates must have 60 college credit hours, pass the Paraprofessional test, or complete the Missouri 20‑hour Online Substitute Training Program.

Qualifications

Must have 60 college credit hours, pass Paraprofessional test, or complete Missouri 20-hour Online Substitute Training Program.
Valid driver’s license and evidence of insurability.

Responsibilities

Adapts classroom activities under supervision to support objectives.
Communicates with teachers and health care professionals to evaluate progress and implement IEP objectives.
Documents students’ daily activities for logs and hourly records.
Implements Life Skills instruction under teacher direction to reinforce concepts.
Implements behavioral plans designed by the IEP team under supervision.
Maintains manual and electronic files and records for compliance.
Models appropriate social behaviors for students and staff.
Monitors daily schedule and behavior plans to maintain a safe learning environment.
Provides instruction to students to meet IEP goals in mainstream classrooms.
Ensures safety by remaining with a student and de-escalating situations.
