Job summary

Flatiron Institute is seeking Flatiron Research Fellows to lead an independently directed research program in astrophysics from its NYC offices. Fellows will collaborate across the CCA and Flatiron Institute, participate in seminars, and contribute to software and publications.

These two-year appointments may be renewed; fellows mentor students, organize workshops, and leverage partnerships and extensive computing resources to advance their research.

Qualifications

• Ability to do original research in astrophysics.
• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
• Ability to present research and other work, internally and externally.
• Effective oral and written communication and data documentation.
• Expertise in computational astrophysics techniques and software development.

Responsibilities

• Carry out an active, independently directed research program.
• Collaborate with other CCA/Flatiron Institute researchers and participate in seminars and group meetings.
• Develop software, mathematical, and computational expertise through internal opportunities.
• Share knowledge via publications, presentations, and software releases.
• Mentor students and organize workshops via relevant programs.
