Job summary

Barrios Technology is seeking a Trace Element Geochemist to join the JETSII Contract. The role focuses on analyzing astromaterial samples, preparing them in a clean lab, and performing ICP-MS and MC-ICP-MS analyses.

The candidate will document procedures, contribute to safety, and work with both in-house and visiting researchers to advance NASA-related projects. Requirements include a BS with 2–5 years of experience, experience in ion-chromatography, and strong communication skills.

Qualifications

• BS degree in a related field with 2–5 years of experience.
• Experience in a clean laboratory environment preparing samples and using ion-chromatography.
• Experience conducting experiments, summarizing results, and preparing reports for publications.

Responsibilities

• Analyze astromaterial samples and analogs.
• Utilize ion-chromatography methods in a clean lab setting.
• Contribute to contamination minimization and clean techniques.
• Prepare samples and perform ICP-MS and MC-ICP-MS analyses.
• Provide general lab support including procurement, calibration and maintenance.
• Validate, summarize and communicate quantitative results.
• Document procedures and participate in safety programs.
• Collaborate with in-house and visiting researchers on sample prep and analysis.
