Job summary

SAIC is hiring Astrodynamics Engineers in Chantilly, VA to join a mission-driven analysis team supporting multiple satellite programs at the forefront of national innovation. This team develops and analyzes novel satellite missions that directly support national priorities, working within a supportive Government environment and engaging frequently with senior Government decision-makers.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s in a STEM field with space mission analysis experience.
• Experience in astrodynamics/orbital mechanics and orbit determination.
• Proficiency in Python or C++ or ability to transfer skills quickly.

Responsibilities

• Develop and apply astrodynamics and/or orbit determination models for mission design, analysis, and assessment.
• Carry out independent trade studies and assessments of orbits, maneuvers, RPO, conjunction risks, and related parameters.
• Validate results and analysis products from external teams, identifying gaps and opportunities.
• Design and refine modeling tools in Python or C++ with HPC considerations.
• Explore new mission concepts and analytical approaches to enhance mission effectiveness.
• Prepare and present technical briefings and reports to Government customers and senior decision-makers.
• Collaborate with propulsion, radars, optics, AI/ML, cloud, and GPU experts to develop integrated analyses.
