Job summary

The Brigham and Women's Hospital is seeking a lab technician to support the Asthma Research Center. You will work with the PI and Lab Manager, performing routine and non-routine experiments, analyzing data, and contributing to research reports.

Responsibilities include coordinating study workflows, maintaining equipment, and presenting progress at team meetings. Bachelor's degree is required; 1–2 years of lab experience is typical. Onsite at 15 Francis Street with 40 hours per week.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in related field required.
• Experience in research lab settings preferred.

Responsibilities

• Participates in development and planning for procedures for research studies evaluating respiratory treatments and medications.
• Independently performs routine tests following established methodologies (TLC, GC, HPLC); includes ELISA and evaporation procedures.
• Performs advanced data analysis using statistical techniques.
• Oversees and coordinates all lab activities, including quality assurance.
• Troubleshoots problems and trains others in specialized techniques.
• Maintains equipment and inventory according to procedures.
• Meets with supervisor to discuss progress.
• Reviews protocols and certifications relevant to study procedures.
• Prepares and presents data reports; proficient with MS Excel and statistical programming.
