Job summary

CliftonLarsonAllen LLP seeks an Assurance Principal to join one of our Northeast offices. The role contributes at the highest level in client advisory, service advocacy, relationship development, and leadership.

You will manage client relationships, sign engagement letters, review work papers, supervise staff, and lead engagement progress. A Bachelor's in Accounting/Finance, 8+ years public accounting, and CPA license are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• Minimum 8+ years of public accounting experience with emphasis in financial statement preparation and audits.
• CPA license is required.

Responsibilities

• Manage and develop relationships with great clients.
• Assume full responsibility for all services for clients in a book of business.
• Review and sign engagement letters, discuss assignments with clients and staff, and approve fees.
• Review and approve work papers prepared by staff.
• Periodically review engagement progress to ensure all phases are carried out properly.
• Review time budgets and deadlines, engage with client's management, and attend final meetings.
• Communicate engagement status, client issues, findings, and recommendations to managers and staff.
• Assist clients in obtaining funding to positively impact their community.
• Assist clients with meeting audit and financial planning objectives using a range of tools.
• Be creative with staff development, mentoring, and overseeing client engagement teams.
• Lead engagement progress by monitoring time budgets and deadlines for adherence.

How you'll create opportunities in this role:

• Review and approve work papers prepared by staff.
• Periodically review engagement progress to determine whether all phases of the engagement are being carried out properly.
• Review time budgets and deadlines, provide ongoing attention to client's management, and attend final client meetings.
• Communicate with managers and staff regarding engagement status, client problems, findings, and recommendations.
• Assist clients in obtaining necessary funding to continue to positively impact their community.
• Assist clients with meeting their audit and financial planning objectives by using a range of tools.
• Be creative with staff development, mentoring, and overseeing client engagement teams.
• Lead the engagement progress by monitoring time budgets and deadlines for adherence.

What you will need:

• You have a Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• You have a minimum of 8+ years of public accounting experience with emphasis in financial statement preparation and audits.
• CPA license is required.

Our approach to compensation emphasizes collaboration and career growth. We pay competitive wages and view compensation as an investment in our people. Factors such as geography, experience, education, skills, and knowledge may impact the position of pay within the range.

The compensation range for this position in Maryland is: $200,000-$350,000.

The compensation range for this position in Virginia is: $200,000-$400,000.
