Assurance Manager

Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced Assurance Manager to lead audit and assurance engagements for a diverse portfolio of privately held and middle-market clients. This individual will serve as a key advisor to clients while managing engagement teams, ensuring technical excellence, and contributing to the continued growth of the practice.

The ideal candidate is a collaborative leader with strong technical accounting and auditing knowledge, exceptional client relationship skills, and a passion for developing staff.

Key Responsibilities

Client Service & Engagement Management

• Lead assurance engagements from planning through completion.


• Serve as the primary point of contact for assigned clients.


• Identify and communicate accounting, financial reporting, and operational risks.


• Provide recommendations to improve internal controls, processes, and financial reporting practices.


• Review financial statements and related disclosures for accuracy and compliance.


• Manage engagement budgets, timelines, and profitability.

Team Leadership

• Supervise, mentor, and develop senior associates and staff accountants.


• Review workpapers and provide constructive feedback.


• Facilitate technical training and on-the-job development.


• Assist with staffing, scheduling, and workload management across engagements.

Technical Expertise

• Apply and interpret U.S. GAAP, GAAS, and other applicable professional standards.


• Research and resolve complex accounting and auditing issues.


• Ensure engagement quality and compliance with firm methodology and professional standards.


• Stay current on emerging accounting and regulatory developments.

Business Development

• Develop and maintain strong client relationships.


• Identify opportunities to expand service offerings.


• Participate in networking and business development activities.


• Support the firm's growth initiatives and community presence.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting required.


• CPA license required or actively pursuing completion of licensing requirements.


• 5+ years of progressive public accounting experience with a focus on audit and assurance.


• Prior experience supervising and developing professional staff.


• Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP and auditing standards.


• Excellent communication, leadership, and client service skills.


• Proven ability to manage multiple engagements and competing deadlines.
