Job summary

BDO USA is seeking an Intern in our Assurance practice in the United States. The intern will gain hands-on exposure, assist in problem solving and fact-finding, and work closely with seasoned team members to learn, coach, and develop professionally.

The role emphasizes on-the-job training, familiarity with GAAP/GAAS, and participation in audit processes. Candidates pursuing accounting degrees with leadership potential are encouraged to apply.

Qualifications

• Enrolled in a Bachelor’s or Master’s program in Accounting.
• Pursuing a master’s degree in Accounting is preferred.
• Leadership experience is preferred.
• Actively pursuing school credits to become a CPA.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Participates in a structured on-the-job training program and becomes familiar with GAAP and GAAS.
• Becomes familiar with BDO’s audit methodology to assist with various stages of the audit process.
• Provides various support functions to the audit staff during engagement.
• Communicates with clients’ customers, creditors, banks and related parties concerning audit issues.
• Prepares and documents work in working papers using BDO tools and templates.
• Contributes ideas to audit teams and responds to team members’ views.
• Completes an assigned accounting or audit research project and presents findings to a panel of Assurance professionals.
• Other duties as required
