Job description

Deering H.S. is currently looking for an enthusiastic, organized, and knowledgeable candidate to serve as an Assistant Football Coach/JV Coach on staff to assist with the Varsity and JV programs for the Fall 2025 Football season, and in the off-season. Candidates must be flexible to work within a cooperative athletic team and coaching staff environment. Previous coaching (H.S., camps or college) and/or H.S. teaching experience is preferred. H.S. or college football playing experience is required. Ideal position for those already working in education as teachers, ed techs, et al. Interested candidates MUST HAVE strong communication skills (online and in-person), high professional and sportsmanship standards, and ideally, experience teaching, leading, and motivating high school students. Deering competes in Class B South in Maine HS Football and was a regional finalist in 2024, finishing 8-3. Home games are played at Memorial Stadium in Portland.
