Responsibilities
Summary

The Assistant Facility Administrator supports the Facility Administrator in developing, supervising, and implementing standards, policies, and guidelines for the facility, assisting in overall administration.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities
  • Direct all department functions, activities, and personnel supervision.
  • Handle performance control activities for operations and safety sections.
  • Ensure procedures, staff training, equipment, and security measures are in place to maintain safety and security.
  • Manage staff hiring, evaluation, training, promotion, and disciplinary actions.
  • Prepare departmental reports and monitor progress towards goals.
  • Conduct inspections and ensure policy compliance.
  • Support staff development and community planning efforts.
  • Respond to significant incidents 24/7.
  • Act as facility administrator when needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Qualifications
    Minimum Requirements
    • High School diploma or equivalent.
    • Preferred: college coursework in behavioral sciences, correctional services, or related fields.
    • At least 10 years of experience in corrections or a related field at mid-management level.
    • Ability to command respect and confidence of inmates and staff.
    • Ability to pass ICE and DHS background checks.
    • Knowledge of ICE Performance Standards and ACA Detention Standards preferred.
    • Experience working with female detainees preferred.
    • Must be at least 21 years old.
    • Must be a U.S. citizen or Lawful Permanent Resident.
