Job summary

The University of South Carolina Beaufort invites enthusiastic student-centered professionals to join our team as the Assistant Director of Student Life on the Bluffton campus. Reporting to the Director of Campus Recreation & Student Life, you will lead programs across Beaufort and Bluffton, supervise staff, and foster an inclusive, vibrant campus community.

This live-in position on the Bluffton campus includes housing, evening/weekend duties, budget oversight, and collaboration with faculty,

Qualifications

  • Requires a bachelor’s degree in a related field and 5+ years of relevant experience.
  • Experience leading campus programs and managing budgets.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work evenings/weekends and travel between Bluffton and Beaufort campuses.

Responsibilities

  • Administer a comprehensive student life program on the Beaufort and Bluffton campuses with vision and leadership.
  • Deliver leadership education by designing and facilitating workshops and trainings.
  • Direct and supervise two professional staff across campuses; hire, train, and evaluate performance.
  • Oversee registered student organizations and budgeting; provide advisor support.
  • Develop and implement community service initiatives and campus engagement activities.
  • Engage in ongoing professional development and ensure FERPA awareness.
