Job summary

The City of Arlington's Public Works Department seeks a seasoned executive to lead Street Maintenance, Traffic Operations, Stormwater Operations, and Information Services. You will direct budgeting, long-range planning, emergency response, and cross-department coordination, supervising 112 professionals across three management-level positions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Management, Public Administration, or related field.
• Five years’ experience in a technical position involving streets, traffic, stormwater, or information services.
• Five years’ experience in a supervisory position.
• Possession of a valid Texas Class C Driver’s License, Class C.

Responsibilities

• Develop, plan, and implement maintenance programs for Streets, Traffic, and Stormwater Operations.
• Direct long-range planning for street maintenance sales tax program and traffic signal construction needs.
• Oversee Information Services, pavement management, work order management, and traffic systems; manage budgets.
• Coordinate with CIP and other departments to prevent overlap; liaise with regional agencies for mutual aid.
• Supervise three management-level positions overseeing 112 staff and manage operating budgets.
