Job summary

Maimonides Medical Center is seeking an Assistant Director of Nursing (Non-Union) for the Emergency Department. The role is full-time, four days per week, from 8pm to 6am, with some weekends, overseeing clinical and operational nursing practice in a high-volume ED.

Responsibilities include leading the department, ensuring compliance with standards, and coordinating data collection and PI initiatives. BSN/MSN required; 2+ years of leadership experience preferred (Charge Nurse or Team Leader).

Qualifications

• 3–5 years ED experience.
• Team oriented behavior.
• Experience with skills validation, competency assessments, and orientation overview.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills; ability to work independently.
• 2 years of leadership experience (Charge Nurse or Team Leader).
• Preferred: CEN/CPEN.
• Current competency in Adult and Pediatric emergency care including triage, resuscitation, and CDU.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for the clinical and operational management of the Nursing Emergency Department, ensuring standards of practice for nursing and patient care are maintained; participates in developing departmental plans and programs as required; collects and provides data on unit activities, PI issues, etc. as required.
