The Role/Responsibilities

As part of the Data Estate vertical at Moody's, this role is crucial for managing all aspects of data acquisition, mapping, and quality related to structured products, including agency and non-agency RMBS, ABS, CMBS, and CDOs. This function is vital for the Structured team to ensure maximum coverage of data, quick turn-around, and improved quality assurance to achieve Moody’s Analytics overall product enhancement and revenue growth objectives.

  • Manage data quality and cleanup projects associated with structured products, including agency and non-agency RMBS, ABS, CMBS, and CDOs.
  • Maintain Workflows and method statements for all data production-related tasks.
  • Maintain production cycle to ensure timely and accurate data processing.
  • Be a part of the project team to work on structured finance data management - to acquire, parse, validate, and store data for downstream products and processes.
  • Review cash flow models and update performance data for structured finance transactions.
  • Manage vendor workflow:
    • Resolve vendor queries.
    • Create specifications for new tasks.
    • Establish vendor submission acceptance criteria.
    • Approve vendor submissions.
  • Collaborate with Data Ops and Dev Ops teams to create and manage Jira tasks and ensure their timely completion.
  • Establish and manage an internal structured assets data governance process to ensure data integrity and compliance.
  • Lead internal data acquisition and production processes to ensure quick turnaround and address data quality issues in a timely fashion.
  • Participate as a subject matter expert in firm-wide initiatives related to Data Quality and Data Management solutions.
  • Evaluate new tools and technologies in the data quality/management space to enhance data processes and systems.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Engineering, Computer Science, Statistics, Economics, Operations Research, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of relevant work experience.
  • Experience with data quality, data cleanup, data enrichment, data strategy, customer data integration (CDI), enterprise information management (EIM), and/or master data management (MDM) projects preferred.
  • Experience with relational or NoSQL databases preferred.
  • Proficiency in VBA, Python, or other programming languages is a plus.
  • Strong quantitative and analytic skills for debugging software and resolving data issues.
  • Expert understanding of data analysis, including root-cause analysis, process modeling, and systems design tools.
  • Excellent team player capable of working effectively with virtual and global cross-functional teams.
  • Excellent spoken and written communication skills, along with receptive listening abilities, with ability to present complex ideas clearly and concisely to both technical and non-technical audiences.

For US-based roles only: the anticipated hiring base salary range for this position is $118,700.00 - $172,250.00, depending on factors such as experience, education, level, skills, and location. This range is based on a full-time position. In addition to base salary, this role is eligible for incentive compensation. Moody’s also offers a competitive benefits package, including not but limited to medical, dental, vision, parental leave, paid time off, a 401(k) plan with employee and company contribution opportunities, life, disability, and accident insurance, a discounted employee stock purchase plan, and tuition reimbursement.
