Xavier College Preparatory in Avondale, Arizona, is seeking qualified coaches or players with high school varsity coaching experience or equivalent. Responsibilities include organizing practices, teaching fundamentals of the sport, and serving as a positive role model for student-athletes.
The role involves maintaining discipline, supporting the team, and participating in professional development opportunities. The position is seasonal and requires various certifications, including CPR and NFHS coaching fundamentals.
Qualified Coaches and/or Players: Coaching experience preferred; at least two years of high school varsity coaching or equivalent required.
Certifications: Valid CPR and First Aid card, NFHS Fundamentals of Coaching certification or Positive Coaching Alliance, Diocesan Safe Environment Training, current fingerprint card, concussion training, heat and illness prevention, sudden cardiac arrest training, and NFHS health and safety courses.
Approved By: The principal as recommended by the Athletic Director and recruited by the Varsity Head Coach.
Supervises: Student‑athletes assigned and portions of the athletic program as determined by the Varsity Head Coach.
Job Goals: Carry out the aims and objectives of the sports program as outlined by the Varsity Head Coach while maintaining oneself as a positive Dominican role model.
Seasonal coaching contract approved by the Athletic Director and/or Principal.
Evaluated by the Varsity Head Coach and Athletic Director immediately after each season, with the results forwarded to the Principal.
