Job summary

Washington University in St. Louis seeks an Associate Vice Chancellor for Resource Planning & Budget to lead annual operating budgets, multi-year planning, and resource allocation for the Danforth Campus, WashU Medicine, and Central Fiscal Unit.

The role advises senior leadership on financial strategy, tuition/revenue modeling, compensation planning, and policy. It requires a decade of leadership in financial planning within a large complex organization and strong executive communication.

Qualifications

• Ten years of progressively responsible finance, budgeting or resource planning experience in a large, complex organization.
• Experience presenting to senior leadership and a Board of Trustees or equivalent governing body.
• Ability to translate complex financial analysis into clear recommendations for executive audiences.

Responsibilities

• Leads the university’s annual operating budget process and sets guidelines across campuses.
• Builds multi-year and long-range financial plans aligned with strategic priorities.
• Oversees tuition and revenue modeling with Provost’s Office and Admissions.
• Develops compensation planning guidelines and budgeting frameworks across schools.
• Creates financial scenarios and stress tests to support institutional health.
• Leads and develops the Resource Planning & Budget team and partners with finance leaders.
