Job summary

ESPN Creative Studio in Bristol, CT is seeking an Associate Editor to develop foundational video editing skills within a fast‑paced, team‑oriented environment. You will perform routine editing tasks, follow established workflows, and contribute to daily or postproduction content under guidance from senior editors.

The role emphasizes learning through structured hands-on experience, adherence to SOPs, and collaboration with editors, producers, and partners to meet tight deadlines.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of editing or related experience.
• Working knowledge of non-linear editing software (Adobe Premiere, Avid, DaVinci Resolve, Final Cut Pro, or similar).
• Familiarity with Adobe Creative Suite applications (After Effects, Audition, Illustrator, Photoshop).
• High School Diploma or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Performs routine and structured editing assignments using non‑linear editing software in support of daily or postproduction content needs in a fast‑paced production environment.
• Edits content in accordance with existing procedures, naming conventions, SOPs, and high‑quality standards.
• Conducts basic quality control checks and makes standard corrective adjustments to ensure ESPN’s content meets high standards.
• Communicates clearly with editors, producers, and partners to ensure success of assignments and accomplishments.
• Works collaboratively within the Edit team and follows direction to meet deadlines and production objectives.
• Participates in assigned training and development opportunities to build technical skills and workflow knowledge.

Job description

ESPN Creative Studio is a unit within the Content division of ESPN. Our staff comprises Motion Graphics, Edit, Visual Storytelling, Production Enhancements and Innovations, Creative Operations, and the Music group. Positions within Creative Studio include Video Editors, Post Editors, Producer Editors, Sound Designers, Graphic Designers, Project Managers and Art Directors, etc. We are the go-to destination to conceptualize, develop, and execute content creation across all domestic and international ESPN distribution platforms.

TheAssociate Editor is an entry‑level role withinESPN Creative Studio, supporting Creative Daily Editorial or Creative Post Editorial. This role is focused on developing foundational video editing skills, applying established workflows, and contributing reliably to team-based production in a fast‑paced environment. The Associate Editor performs routine assignments, works within standardized procedures, and builds technical competence through structured, hands‑on experience and guidance from more senior video editors.

• Ability to work nights, weekends, holidays, overtime, and adjusted schedules as required by production needs.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Understanding of non-linear and social media production workflows.
• Knowledge of PC and/or Mac operating systems.
• Bilingual (written and spoken) in both English and Spanish.

Required Education:

• High School Diploma or equivalent.

Preferred Education:

• Bachelor's Degreein Communications, Studio Production, Journalism, or related field Vocational School or related experience

The hiring range for this position in Bristol, CT is $63,700.00 to $87,500.00 per year based on a 40-hour work week. The amount of hours scheduled per week may vary based on business needs. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
