Overview

We are currently seeking a highly skilled and motivated Associate Vice President/ Lead Structural Engineerto join our team in ourBoston, MA Office. The AVP will play a crucial role in overseeing various projects as project manager; the technical mentorship of local staff; supporting business development efforts; delivering consistent technical quality, successful project delivery, and client satisfaction.

Responsibilities
  • Lead, mentor, and grow a team of talented structural engineers in the pursuit and execution of projects within an energetic and diverse multi-disciplinary office;
  • Oversee a wide range of structural engineering analysis and design tasks for new and existing structural steel, reinforced concrete, masonry, and wood/timber buildings and related structures;
  • Lead site investigations to observe and document existing conditions and document structural deficiencies;
  • Oversee condition assessments and load ratings of various structures;
  • Supervise and assist in the development of project plans, design calculations, specifications and lead the coordination with other design disciplines as required to deliver high quality engineering services;
  • Provide responses and solutions to issues during the construction administration phase of projects;
  • Utilize a broad assortment of technical and project management skills onprojects that range from small renovations to large scale new construction;
  • Mentor, train, and develop junior engineering staff;
  • Lead in the preparation of technical proposals in the pursuit of new work;
  • Attend local industry and business development functions;
  • Coordinate staffing needs, project financial performance, and revenue projections as a project manager.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor of Science in Civil/Structural Engineering; Master’s Degree a plus;
  • 12+ years’ minimum experience in Structural Engineering practice;
  • MA PE required; SE Licensure a plus;
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills;
  • Strong mentorship skills;
  • Ability to supervise, delegate tasks, and provide guidance to technical staff;
  • Understanding and application of MA code requirements;
  • Experience in using various structural analysis software;
  • Ability to multitask, work on multi-disciplinary teams, and consistently meet deadlines;
  • AutoCAD and Revit experience a plus.
